6 months pregnant mum reveals why baby bump isn’t showing

A mum was forced to defend the size of her baby bump after receiving comments questioning why she wasn’t showing.

Yiota Kouzoukas, who co-owns an Australian clothing website, has more than 200,000 followers on Instagram and had been inundated with questions about the size of her bump.

She took to the social media platform to post an explanation about why her bump looked so small, shedding light on a rarely talked about condition in pregnant women.

She wrote:

I receive a lot of DMs and comments regarding the size of my bump, which is why I want to explain a few things about my body. Not that I’m upset/affected by these comments at all, but more for the reason of educating in the hope that some people are less judgemental on others and even themselves.
For the first 4 months of my pregnancy, my uterus was retroverted/tilted which means that I was growing backwards into my body rather than outwards. Most people with this type of uterus tilt forward at around 12 weeks and continue growing outwards like you normally would. My uterus didn’t “flip forward” until well into being 4 months pregnant because of the backwards tilted position paired with decade old endometriosis scarring that I have on my uterosacral ligaments.

Basically, these ligaments are acting like anchors keeping my uterus “inside” rather than “outside”, which is why I appeared smaller than most people for the first 4 or 5 months.

Now, at #6monthspregnant I’m growing forwards just like everyone else while the scarring on my ligaments slowly breaks down.

My torso is also short and my stomach is naturally toned which is keeping my belly super tight, so I’ve had to personally stop all ab exercises to avoid any issues with possible ab separation.

This is for me personally, as instructed by my doctor and is in no way a blanket rule for anyone else. I’m perfectly healthy, baby is perfectly healthy and that’s all that matters. Our bodies and bumps are all different and our shapes and sizes are all different too ❤️

With N5,000, or even less, one of the security guards employed to protect students at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Langtang, Plateau state, would gladly love-vendor the girls to strangers.

Speaking to TheCable’s undercover reporter, the guard gave an insight into how he organises “runs” for the teenagers for a fee, and how this is a common practice. This investigation by FEMI OWOLABI and SEYI AWOJULUGBE also exposes the rot in the once-prestigious Unity School, where students use water from an untreated well, sleep on broken beds, study in hostile classrooms — and live practically unprotected from predators.
You are in Langtang, Plateau state, for the weekend and need a schoolgirl for the evening? Someone is ready to help you make the arrangement for a fee. You can even have more than one girl if you choose. There are plenty of them at the nearby Federal Government Girls College (FGGC). The love-vendor is actually paid to protect the girls, but that is by the way.
Before TheCable set out for Langtang, the guard — whose phone number the reporter had collected from an acquaintance — consistently beat his chest and gave assurances that getting girls out of the hostel “is no big deal”, and it was soon obvious that the love-vendor had been in the business for a long time.
Bani Guest House, a popular lodge along the Langtang highway, is well known to the girls, the guard said. He explained that most of them do attend Sunday evening parties at Bani, where their boyfriends come to wait for them.
The reporter had disguised as a visiting businessman in need of girls to spend “a nice time” with. He promised to pay the guard more than what he would ask for. All the “big man” needed was a guarantee of a swell time. The excited guard called endlessly, excessively delighted with the business at hand.
TheCable ran into a little bad luck along the way — the timing of the visit coincided with when the SS3 girls were writing their exams in July 2017, and other classes were on vacation. But, not to worry, the guard was ready to pull the strings all the same.
Settling over a plate of rice ordered for him at the guest house, the guard told his would-be customer that girls in SS3 who were rounding off their final exams would make the perfect picks.
“I am giving you outgoing students,” he said, his face loosening into a smile. “There are some writing exams, it’s just to get a clue to know them and ask if they can do this for me. There are girls who do ‘runs’ but the issue is money.” The guard, who was quick to request for money so he could move round and also “sort out” the girls’ transportation, revealed that there are a couple of schoolgirls who are into the act of sneaking out of the school premises.
“You’ll discuss how much you’ll give them,” he said, pocketing the N5,000 the reporter had given him as upfront for the task. “All those girls are small girls and they don’t know money much. If you treat them well, they will look for you if you’re still around.”
The guard had left his duty post. For hours, he was moving round the school, searching for girls who could be available under the tight deadline.
“I have arranged two girls now, and they will come to meet you when they are done with their exams today,” he would later say on phone.

A Nigerian lady, enitanmarquis, has taken to social media to narrate how she was robbed, stabbed in the traffic at night while driving from VI to surulere,Lagos.
Enitanmarquis, who narrated the incident on her instagram page, claimed that she was stabbed nine times and her phone, bag were collected.

She wrote;

I wasn’t going to post anything about the incident but I saw that something similar happened to another lady recently and awareness needs to be raised – so people can be even more vigilant, and solutions can be sought.
I was driving from VI to Surulere at about 8.30pm on Monday 16th October. I had just driven past Apongbon when I got into heavy traffic. I noticed two men approach the drivers side of the car in front of mine, but the driver was able to swerve away from them. I sensed something was wrong, so I tried to do the same, but was unable to cross to the other lane due to the traffic. The two men walked past my car, I then looked in my rearview mirror and saw one of them look back at my car, and then he turned around and walked back towards me.
Everything happened really fast – he approached my window, smashed the window and started stabbing my arm, saying “give me your phone, give me your bag”. I was in shock, terrified and stuck in traffic. I couldn’t drive anywhere. I gave him my phone, he continued stabbing my arm. I gave him my bag, and he still continued stabbing my arm.
At some point I was able to drive off, or he ran away (I can’t remember which happened first). I was disorientated, scared and was driving quite erratically, hitting other cars trying to get someone’s attention. I was screaming for help as my arm was bleeding out. I kept screaming to the other drivers “Help me! I’ve been stabbed”, they just looked, no one helped.
Eventually I rammed into a car in front of me, the man came out of his car, saw the state I was in and proceeded to help me. I can only describe him as being God sent. Out of everybody who was in that traffic only one man took it upon himself to help… I was stabbed 9 times in my arm – for a phone and handbag.
We always hear that the ’ember months are dangerous, but Lagos State, Lagos Police, WHAT IS BEING DONE to prevent these incidents? WHAT IS BEING DONE to reduce the ridiculous traffic that are breeding grounds for these incidents? And people of Lagos, myself included, WHAT ARE WE DOING to be better?

Chidinma Ekile was born on the 2nd of May, 1991. She is popularly known by her stage name Chidinma and is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. In 2010, she rose to stardom after winning the third season of Project Fame West Africa.

Chidinma won Best Female West African Act at the 2012 Kora Awards and performed her first hit track “Kedike” at the ceremony.

Another Nigerian Student Allegedly Commits Suicide After Spending 13 Years To Study A Course

It was reported yesterday here that a A 16-year old 100-level student of Microbiology at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Mercy Afolaranmi allegedly committed suicide over poor grades.

Now, it is been reported that another of university of Uyo, Etini Udoh allegedly committed suicide because one of his lecturers frustrated his graduation for 8 years.

According to Facebook user, Benny Umoren…

“So that’s how Etini Udoh committed suicide yesterday just because Mr. Dennis Edem, his lecturer sworn he won’t let him graduate, but now that this boy has killed himself after spending 13 years to study soil science, a 5 years course will he eat the certificate? 2004 -2017 is along time what I don’t understand is the joy this man get in frustrating so many students and boasting about it.

Uniyo lecturers how is the wickedness you guys are known for reducing the high price of garri in the market in this recession? If it’s not reducing, stop it!!!

RIP Etini, but you won’t even get your certificate in the other world nor go for NYSC there, why did you kill yourself now I understand the frustration but killing yourself wasn’t the solution either.

University of Uyo lecturers are known to be demons, you all should continue the wickedness but remember karma is a Nigerian. Your stories of wickedness are epic, enjoy it.”
