Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Victor Antai has presented a car gift to an Online Blogger in the state, Mr. Uduak Inwang.
The Blogger, popularly called Cavil, is the Head Publicist of Akwa Ibom Trending, and has been consistently publishing the state government activities for over two years.
Presenting the Toyota Camry car to the beneficiary, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Antai said, the gesture was in appreciation of Mr. Inwang’s commitment working with him from when he was Chairman of Mbo Local Government, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and now Culture and Tourism.
‘‘The car donation is in appreciation of Mr. Cavil’s commitment working with me and promoting the activities of the just concluded Orange Carnival to commemorate the 30th Anniversary celebration of the state’’, he said. Mr. Inwang, who rose from an ordinary phone repairer to a Blogger, while expressing gratitude to the Commissioner, described him as a man who believes in hard working people.
He said, the gift would encourage him to do more adding that, ‘‘other people are encouraged because of what he has done for me, which I never taught I would be a car owner. Therefore, I am really excited’’, he said.
Followers, who commented on social media thanked the Culture and Tourism Commissioner saying, ‘‘this gesture could well be attribute to Mr. Cavil’s excellent delivery in boosting the online destination, and marketing of Akwa Ibom State in the just concluded Orange Carnival to commemorate Akwa Ibom 30th Anniversary.
They commended the Commissioner for his pragmatism and human resource management prowess, which according to them was a missing managerial ability in marketing the state tourism sector since its creation in 1987.
